Reservation in Education

Reservation in India is just simply considered as the weapon for the Vote Bank of political parties. But that is not the right definition. What I found in our country, people are not ready to any type of change in the society. They don’t want their servant to be educated more than them or their other family members. Govt. has reserved some percentage to the seats  in the Institutes or colleges for the Backward and socially cheated class of the society. Mostly these people are economically, socially and educationally backward. Because from a long time these people are considered to be untouchables for the upper caste. of the society i.e. the reservation is based on the caste system. I strongly favor the reservation policy but seek some modification in it. Reservation is a opportunity for the people who cannot afford for the higher education of the expensive education. But reservation must be on the economic and social backwardness. the castes like SC/ST really need reservation to bring changes in their educational and social status. I know many of my friend may not be agree with me but the fact is that the upper caste enjoyed many rights and privileges over the backward ones from centuries. Upper castes are treated warmly and this discrimination is too much in the states like Rajasthan where some castes and societies are given special respect irrespective of richness or poorness. I also believe that government must continue the reservation but also establish more institutes so that the ratio of education would increase and nobody would left out the college due to shortage of seats or colleges.
